Paying for your work

You can quickly and easily make payment online, using any standard credit or debit card, but we can take payment whichever way is easiest for you. Check out our fees page for other payment alternatives.

Telling us about your work

It’s helpful for us to have a bit of background about you and your project before we start work. Things you might want to tell us include: what kind of manuscript you have written, who you are, what inspired you to start writing, what your aims are, what your concerns are, whether you’ve had contact with / feedback from agents or publishers, etc. The more we know, the more helpful we can be.

Presenting your work

If you are writing a manuscript, then we do ask for:

  • A nice clear layout – so a 12 point font, margins of at least an inch, and either 1.5 or double line spacing.
  • Page numbering – please don’t forget!
  • A proper title page – we like to see your name, all your contact info, your book’s title, and a word count.

If you are writing a screenplay, then you should ought to know how to format your work correctly. If you don’t, you might want to learn about this essential art here. We can look at work that hasn’t been formatted correctly, but we don’t recommend it.

If you are writing a stage or radio play, then any clear formatting is acceptable.

If you are writing a children’s picture book, then any clear layout is fine.
