Getting Published with Harry Bingham

Are you serious about getting published? Ready to land a literary agent, a book deal, and get published? Then you need to come to this event! Over the course of the evening Harry will give you training that will cover the groundwork you need to start building your successful writing career. The session will cover what a succesful pitch letter really looks like; what real-life literary agents are looking for right now; tricks on writing an excellent synopsis; and much, much more. Basically, he'll share all of the inside tricks and tips he's learnt from twenty years of being in the business.

Questions with Industry Guests

After the session concludes, there’ll be chance to put your questions straight to Harry, and industry guests.

Plus, we'll be running a Slushpile Live! Agents may well receive over 50 unsolicited manuscripts a week. With each submission, they have to make a rapid, commercially driven decision about whether to (A) reject the MS immediately, (B) read the submission package, but then reject it, or (C) read the submission package, then ask to read the full MS.

Slushpile Live is there to show you how agents & publishers make those decisions - and there to show you how YOU can make sure your manuscript is not one of those rejected. Here's how the process works:

· Bring along 3 copies of your Agent Query Letter

· We will randomly select from audience volunteers

· Each selected person will read their letter out loud and the agents/authors present will be asked for instant feedback and comment.

· Please note that if your work is selected for review your letter will be commented on in public.
