The Writers' Workshop
• Feedback on your writing (more) Our editors are all either professional authors or commissioning editors from major publishing houses, and between us we have written and edited thousands of books and won or been shortlisted for numerous awards. Because we are extremely selective when it comes to choosing our editors, our manuscript assessments are as good as they get. And when we find a manuscript strong enough to be marketed, we will ALWAYS seek to place it with a literary agent - and never charge for so doing. What's more, we'll never leave your side. We have on occasion gone on supporting clients some five years after we first helped them to a literary agent. Read More >>

Meet the agents
Each year we invite literary agents who are keen to take on new talent and who represent some of the biggest and best agencies in the business. Agencies represented at this year's Festival include United Agents, PFD, Christopher Little, Sheil Land, AP Watt, Watson Little, Conville & Walsh, and Blake Friedmann. We also hand-select some of the best agents from the many excellent smaller agencies. Some of those at this year's event include Lorella Belli, Peter Buckman, Julia Churchill, Lisa Eveleigh, David Headley, Penny Holroyde, and Jane Judd. Read More >> Literary agents advice library

No one knows more than we do. So if you have a question about literary agents (including children's literary agents), we've got the answer. Our resource centre tells you how to get a literary agent, how to choose which ones to approach, how to write a good query letter, what a novel synopsis should look like, how to write a book proposal, what literary agents actually do - and much more. We've also categorised agents, so you can (for example) select only children's literary agents, fiction agents, non-fiction literary agents, etc. Agents who have taken submissions from us in the past are also identified. If you want an agent for a children's book (or picture book), you should probably check out our children's pages. |
