The Writers’ Workshop is the largest editorial consultancy in Britain – and probably the world. We were set up by professional authors and remain a 100% writer-run organisation. You can find details of our editors here.

What We Do

We offer tough, realistic and expert advice on your manuscript. If your work is strong enough to sell, then we’ll help you with the appropriate next steps (usually, but not always, recommendation to a leading literary agent). If your work is not yet strong enough to sell, then we’ll give you detailed information about what is and isn’t working, and how to address the elements that aren’t yet right. What we can work with

We can work with almost any type of manuscript. We handle:

• Novels and short stories
• children’s fiction
• non-fiction, including memoirs, travel books, self-help books, and much more
• screenplays (both features and for TV)
• stage plays, radio plays, and some poetry

 We can work with completed manuscripts or just a few chapters. We have clients all over the world, and are always ready to welcome you.

Our promise

Getting published is hard. We can’t guarantee you success. But we can and do promise you tough, expert and honest advice. Our support has helped numerous clients on the path to publication and even the bestseller lists. We very much hope to do the same for you.
